“Under the Shadow of the Almighty”: Pastor Joseph Prince’s Message on Psalm 91

Por Matias

There are days when fear knocks on the door: bad news, a diagnosis, the insecurity of the streets, worry for your children. And on those days, many repeat Psalm 91 as if it were a charm. But this psalm is not a magic formula: it is a promise for those who dwell, for those who live close to God.

In his teaching “The Promise of Protection: Truths from Psalm 91”, Pastor Joseph Prince, of New Creation Church (Singapore), shows us the secret place of the Most High: a refuge where “No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling” (Psalm 91:10, NKJV). The key is in the first verse: “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust'” (Psalm 91:1-2, NKJV). To dwell is not to visit now and then: it is to stay, to make God your home.

The promise covers night and day: “You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day” (Psalm 91:5, NKJV). And the tenderest image of the psalm is in verse 4: “He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler”. Like a bird sheltering its young, God covers you with His faithfulness.

Watch the video and let this word remind you where your refuge is today:

Application for today: Before you go out today, declare out loud: “The Lord is my refuge and my fortress”, and walk through the day knowing you are under His wings.
