Some weeks start badly and end worse, and we catch ourselves grumbling about what is coming. Without realizing it, we start believing that God can only move within the limits our logic allows him: that he can do something, but not that; that he can bless, but not here; that he can work, but not with us. That is limiting God.
In this sermon, Pastor Dante Gebel (River Church, evangelical pastor) confronts us with a simple and challenging truth: the Bible is full of supernatural solutions for our finances, our relationships, and our health, but our unbelief and our legalistic beliefs keep his work from being manifested. When we look at God through the small eyes of fear, we reap small lives; when we remove the human limits, he works as he is: without measure.
Scripture reminds us in Luke 1:37 that “with God nothing will be impossible.” It is not a pretty phrase for a coffee mug; it is an invitation to change our relationship with the Lord: to give him glory in everything, to trust even when we do not understand the way, and to let his Spirit do what we cannot.

Application for today
Today choose one area of your life where you have been limiting God and declare out loud: “I will not limit you, Lord; I believe that for you nothing is impossible.” Then act like someone who believes that.
