Chile: the Evangelical Te Deum brings President Kast together with churches in prayer for the nation

The National Thanksgiving Service, known as the Evangelical Te Deum, was celebrated on Sunday at the Evangelical Cathedral of Chile, in Estación Central, with the presence of President José Antonio Kast and First Lady María Pía Adriasola: the first Evangelical Te Deum led by Kast since his arrival at La Moneda in March. The ceremony, held since 1975 every Sunday before Fiestas Patrias, brought together cabinet ministers, senior commanders of the Armed Forces, the president of the Supreme Court, and pastors and bishops from various evangelical churches.

The central message was delivered by Bishop Héctor Cancino del Valle, high protocol representative of the evangelical churches, who gave a severe diagnosis of the country’s situation and called for rebuilding national trust: state institutions must be “glass boxes,” and under the motto “rebuilding with hope, tearing down the paradigm of the impossible” he called for overcoming pessimism and recovering unity. After the ceremony, President Kast took up the churches’ call and centered his message on national unity and hope: “Chile is the common homeland of all… a call to reconciliation, to reunion, to recovery and to hope,” and he thanked “the evangelical churches for this prayer for Chile.”

Latin Evangelical Alliance approves the Costa Rica Commitment to transparency

The Latin Evangelical Alliance (AEL) approved the Costa Rica Commitment, a document with five principles of transparency and good institutional governance for the organization itself and for each of its 25 national alliance members, representing 22 countries. The agreement was adopted during the 13th General Assembly, held October 12–16 in Ciudad Cariari (Costa Rica), under the motto “Alignment, Advancement, Mission.”

The principles require keeping institutional documents up to date, ordering the record of meetings and agreements, guaranteeing financial transparency before members and society, and adopting codes of ethics with reporting channels, protocols for the prevention of sexual abuse, personal data protection, and anti-money-laundering measures. “Transparency is not just an administrative requirement: it is part of our Christian witness,” said Pastor Juan Cruz Cellammare, president of the AEL, who noted that these criteria can serve as a model for thousands of churches and organizations across the continent. The document is inspired by 1 Corinthians 4:1-2, which recalls that stewards are expected to be found faithful. The next assembly will take place, God willing, in Lima (Peru), October 11–15, 2027.

London prepares for Digital Day 2026: artificial intelligence at the service of mission

The international Christian organization Christian Vision (CV) is preparing a new edition of Digital Day 2026, a gathering on technology, innovation, and Christian mission to be held on November 12 in South Kensington, London, with in-person participation and a live stream for an international audience.

Digital Day 2026: artificial intelligence and evangelization

The event will bring together ministry leaders, specialists, and professionals exploring how digital tools are changing the way the Christian message is communicated. The program includes artificial intelligence, video games, and the role of algorithms in contemporary culture, with references to organizations such as FaithTech, Alpha International, and Emmaus Gaming. The edition is presented under the concept “Full Awareness”: examining how innovation can contribute to spreading the Gospel without losing sight of the pastoral and human purpose of the task, because tools can facilitate communication, but credibility, transparency, and respect for people remain essential.

Asia: young Muslim woman is baptized and becomes an evangelist

A young woman who had lost faith in Islam found in Jesus Christ the answers she was looking for after meeting Christian missionaries in Asia. After hearing the Gospel, she decided to give her life to Jesus, began attending a church, and was baptized, although she still fears telling her family about her conversion.

Young Muslim woman baptized in Asia

Tara’s story began in a park in a Muslim-majority city, where missionary Sophia, of the International Mission Board (IMB), was evangelizing alongside Maryam, a believer from South Asia. Tara was studying at a conservative Islamic institution, but she felt disillusioned and was looking for answers in other beliefs, such as Buddhism and Hinduism, with none of them filling the emptiness she felt. The missionaries shared the Gospel with her and began meeting weekly to study the Bible; during a reading about Jesus’ encounter with the Samaritan woman, Tara broke down in tears and decided to give her life to Christ. Since then she has also shared her new faith with university friends and has brought several of them to church, while the missionaries walk with her and pray that she remains steadfast.

Day of Prayer for Persecuted Christians: the testimony of Bassam, who will not be silent

On the first Sunday of November, the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church (IDOP) was commemorated, and The Voice of the Martyrs (VOM) centered this year’s observance on the testimony of Bassam, a former Muslim from the Arabian Peninsula who was disowned by his father, beaten by his wife’s brothers, and imprisoned after converting to Christianity, yet still keeps sharing the Gospel.

Bassam's testimony, International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church 2026

“For many years, I was spiritually asleep. I did not know the truth of who God is. But once I found Christ, I could not stay silent,” Bassam recounted in VOM’s prayer video. Despite having lost almost everything, he has witnessed one of his daughters become a follower of Jesus. Todd Nettleton, vice president of message for VOM USA, explained that the video seeks to help Christians better understand the reality of the people they pray for: “Never underestimate the power of our prayers to support, encourage, and lift up our brothers and sisters.” VOM made free resources available —Bassam’s video testimony, prayer guides, and materials for pastors— and held a 24-hour prayer event on social media with one intercession request per hour.

Spiritual impact

These five stories show a church that prays for its nations, that puts its house in order with transparency, that embraces technology without losing its pastoral heart, and that keeps being born where it costs the most: in a young woman who leaves everything for Christ, and in a man who, even in prison, cannot keep silent about what he has seen. Faith does not retreat; it advances, prays, and proclaims on every continent.

Prayer request

Let us pray for Chile and its authorities, that the churches’ prayer may bear fruit in unity and hope; for the evangelical alliances of Latin America, that the Costa Rica Commitment may translate into real integrity; for the digital ministries that will gather in London; for Tara and her family, that the Gospel may reach them without fear; and for Bassam and persecuted Christians, that the worldwide church may never stop interceding for them.

“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” — Matthew 5:10
