Jeremy Camp: complete biography and discography with all his albums and songs

The story of Jeremy Camp is that of the American evangelical singer-songwriter who turned the pain of losing his first wife into hymns like «I Still Believe» and «Walk by Faith»: with more than 40 number-one hits on Christian radio, five Dove Awards and a movie about his life, he is one of the most awarded voices in contemporary Christian music. In this post we tell his complete biography and review his entire discography, album by album. If you want to listen to Jeremy Camp, here we tell you where to find his Jeremy Camp songs gathered on Música Cristiana.

1. Complete biography

The origins: a pastor’s son in Indiana (1978-2000)

Jeremy Thomas Camp was born on January 12, 1978, in Lafayette, Indiana, United States, the son of Pastor Tom Camp of Harvest Chapel in Lafayette, associated with Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa. It was his father who taught him to play the guitar. He studied theology at Calvary Chapel Bible College in Murrieta, California, where he earned an associate degree and was ordained as a minister. A worship leader heard him playing in the school kitchen and added him to the worship team; he later led worship at churches in Southern California. Among his musical influences he names «U2», «Jars of Clay», «Delirious?» and «Creed».

Melissa, «I Still Believe» and the jump to BEC (2000-2004)

His first album, «Burden Me» (2000), was independent. On October 21, 2000, he married Melissa Lynn Henning, who was diagnosed with ovarian cancer; she died on February 5, 2001, when he was 23 and she was 21. «I Still Believe» was the first song he wrote after her death, and «Walk by Faith» he wrote during their honeymoon. In 2002 he signed with BEC Recordings, which released «Stay», his first nationally distributed album, and with it came his first number-one hits on Christian radio.

Establishment: Dove Awards, Grammy and more than 40 number ones (2005-2019)

With «Restored» (2004), «Beyond Measure» (2006) and «Speaking Louder Than Before» (2008) he established himself as one of the most important CCM soloists: he won 5 GMA Dove Awards —New Artist of the Year (2004), Male Vocalist of the Year (2004 and 2005), Rock Song of the Year (2005, «Stay») and Packaging of the Year (2007, «Beyond Measure»)—, was named ASCAP Songwriter of the Year three times (2005, 2006 and 2008) and received a 2010 Grammy nomination for «Speaking Louder Than Before». On December 15, 2003, he married Adrienne Liesching, former vocalist of The Benjamin Gate, with whom he has three children. He founded Speaking Louder Ministries, with mission trips to Guatemala, Brazil, India, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine and Japan.

Today: the movie, new albums and ministry (2020-2026)

In 2011 he published his autobiography «I Still Believe», and in March 2020 the film «I Still Believe» premiered, based on his romance with Melissa, with actor KJ Apa playing him. The albums «I Still Believe: The Greatest Hits» (2020), «When You Speak» (2021) and «Deeper Waters» (2024) followed. In March 2024 he underwent heart surgery to treat atrial fibrillation. In 2026 he received K-Love Fan Awards nominations —Song of the Year («No Survivors»), Artist of the Year and Male Artist of the Year—, and his next album, «Revival», is announced for February 5, 2027.
