The National Thanksgiving Service, known as the Evangelical Te Deum, was celebrated on Sunday at the Evangelical Cathedral of Chile, in Estaci\u00f3n Central, with the presence of President Jos\u00e9 Antonio Kast and First Lady Mar\u00eda P\u00eda Adriasola: the first Evangelical Te Deum led by Kast since his arrival at La Moneda in March. The ceremony, held since 1975 every Sunday before Fiestas Patrias, brought together cabinet ministers, senior commanders of the Armed Forces, the president of the Supreme Court, and pastors and bishops from various evangelical churches.<\/p>\n
The central message was delivered by Bishop H\u00e9ctor Cancino del Valle<\/strong>, high protocol representative of the evangelical churches, who gave a severe diagnosis of the country’s situation and called for rebuilding national trust: state institutions must be \u00abglass boxes,\u00bb<\/strong> and under the motto \u00abrebuilding with hope, tearing down the paradigm of the impossible\u00bb<\/strong> he called for overcoming pessimism and recovering unity. After the ceremony, President Kast took up the churches’ call and centered his message on national unity and hope: \u00abChile is the common homeland of all\u2026 a call to reconciliation, to reunion, to recovery and to hope,\u00bb<\/strong> and he thanked \u00abthe evangelical churches for this prayer for Chile.\u00bb<\/strong><\/p>\n
